Welcome to Rentr’s privacy policy.

Rentr respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and our App and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

  1. IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND WHO WE ARE

This privacy policy aims to give you information on how our website (our Site) and our mobile application (our App) (together, the Platform) collects and processes your personal data. For example, when we help you find and create tenancies, or otherwise support the letting and management of rental properties through of Platform. Rentr Limited is the controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as “we”, “us” or “our” in this privacy policy) as set out in this policy

The Platform may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications, for example your third-party wallet. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our Platform, we encourage you to read the privacy policy of every website you visit.

  1. THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, title, date of birth, gender and information on whether you a landlord or tenant.
  • Account Data includes username, password and related technical information regarding your account on the Platform.
  • Digital Assistant Data [includes data you provide to us when you interact with our digital assistant]
  • Landlord Data includes your name, information on the property that you’re letting and your letting history.
  • Tenant Data includes information in connection with your property search, renting history, move to and move from addresses, moving dates and tenancy details (if you’re a tenant), applications for properties and references, viewing bookings and rent payments.
  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this Platform.
  • Marketing and Communications Data includes [your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences].

IF YOU FAIL TO PROVIDE PERSONAL DATA

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us, but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.

If you are a tenant, landlords registered to use our services may share your details or request references for you. We are also working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, third parties who may offer goods or services which we believe may be of interest to you, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, advertising networks, analytics providers, search information providers, credit reference agencies) and may receive information about you from them.

 

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
